Our client is a specialist manufacturer of scientific instrumentation for a global market. Working within an experienced and highly skilled engineering design team we are seeking an additional Embedded Software Engineer. The role will be to design, develop and maintain Embedded Software for the next generation of systems. You will be working at our client's modern and well-equipped development facility. Our client offers flexible hours with options for 4.5 day week, 9 day fortnight etc. Skills sought will include: - C, C++ - Demonstrable experience in designing and building software systems - Experience in developing Embedded Software using C and/or C++ - understanding of full software development lifecycle (UML) - understanding and appreciation of code version control - ability to write and review technical documents Additional, desirable experience: - Verilog for FPGA's, VHDL - Linux - Embedded real time operating systems FreeRTOS - AVR and SAM Mirocontrollers - Microchip Studio IDE Responsibilities - Architect, design and develop the software that drives our equipment - Support and assist systems integration and product testing - Provide customer support and problem solve on technical matters - Attend and actively contribute to design reviews Experience and Qualifications: - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Electronics or related discipline - 5+ years' relevant experience in Embedded Software Engineering Our client offers a relaxed, friendly, collaborative working environment.
