Our client is an international company and the global leader in their sector. We are seeking a practical and proactive Test & Validation Engineer to support the development and release of their products and systems. This role goes beyond executing predefined tests. While some existing procedures and specifications are in place, test coverage and documentation are not yet fully mature. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, improving, and formalising test methods, as well as executing them. You will need to be comfortable working with a mix of defined processes and incomplete information, using sound engineering judgement to ensure products are robust, reliable, and ready for release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out development, verification, and regression testing on equipment and associated systems
  • Interpret existing test specifications and work instructions, identifying gaps where coverage is incomplete
  • Develop and refine test procedures, setups, and methodologies where required
  • Set up and operate laboratory and field-based test environments
  • Accurately record, analyse, and report test results
  • Identify, reproduce, and clearly document faults with supporting evidence
  • Work closely with engineering teams to investigate issues and improve product performance
  • Support product validation and release activities
  • Contribute to building a more structured and robust test framework over time
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure appropriate calibration and upkeep

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in a test, validation, or technical QA role
  • Strong practical, hands-on engineering capability
  • Ability to work from incomplete or evolving requirements
  • Confident in developing test approaches, not just executing predefined steps
  • Good understanding of electrical or electronic systems
  • Use of common test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes)
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in field-based testing environments
  • Familiarity with data logging or analysis tools, Python

Qualifications

Degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
