Our client is a specialist manufacturer of scientific instrumentation, including fibre sensors. Working within an experienced and highly skilled engineering design team we are seeking an Optical Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills encompassing the field of fibre optics with the ability to design and develop optical architectures for arrays of sensors. A working knowledge of electronics and software would be advantageous. Our client offers excellent salary and benefits package including flexible start and finish times, options for 4.5 day week or 9 day fortnight. You will be working onsite at our client's modern and well-equipped development facility. Skills sought will include: - Deep understanding of fibre sensors
- Understanding of noise sources and optical loss
- Broad knowledge of optical components
- Ability to write and review technical documents
- Software and Electronics experience desireable
- Vibration testing desireable Responsibilities - Research and optical design of new products
- Assist production with the introduction of new products
- Support and assist in integration and product testing
- Provide customer support and problem solve on technical matters
