  • Exterior works: Timber/composite decking, pergolas, timber cladding, soffits/fascias.
  • Flooring: Install engineered/solid timber floors, thresholds, and acoustic underlays.
  • Doors and compliance: Install standard and fire-rated door sets, seals, and hardware to spec.
  • Repairs and maintenance: Subfloor repairs, rotten timber replacement, door/frame adjustments, minor structural remedials.
  • Light commercial fit-out: Timber/metal stud partitions, MF/suspended ceilings, counters and displays, basic fire-stopping coordination.
  • Site standards: Read drawings, set out accurately, maintain tidy sites, and complete quality checks and documentation.

Essential skills and experience

  • Proven experience in residential carpentry; exposure to light commercial/shopfit is a plus.
  • Competent across first fix and second fix; confident with finishing to a high standard.
  • Able to install kitchens and built-in cabinetry square, level, and plumb.
  • Strong knowledge of fixings, adhesives, and appropriate timber/composite materials.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and door set schedules.
  • Safe, proficient use of power and hand tools; own well-maintained tool kit required.
  • Good communication, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence and reliable own transport to move between sites and collect materials.

  • Asbestos awareness, manual handling, and first aid (desirable).
  • CIS registration required for subcontract engagements.
