Vehicle Technician / Station Lead Location: Cardiff Working Days: Monday to Friday Hours: 50 hours per week (weekends pay rate paid at 1.5x) Salary: £42,900 About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician who can confidently work on cars and vans of various makes, models, and sizes. This role goes beyond technical ability, you will be expected to run your own station, manage workflow efficiently, and communicate clearly with both the Workshop Manager and Transport Manager. The focus is on keeping as many vehicles on the road as possible. While some large repair tasks (such as clutch replacements) will form part of your work, priority is always given to quicker jobs that can return vehicles to service immediately. You will need to balance technical skill with good judgment, ensuring work is prioritised effectively. Key Responsibilities * Carry out maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of cars and vans. * Manage your own workstation and workflow, ensuring efficiency and organisation. * Prioritise work based on operational needs, completing smaller, urgent repairs ahead of lengthy jobs when necessary. * Provide regular updates and reports to the Workshop Manager and Transport Manager. * Ensure work is completed to high safety and quality standards. * Communicate clearly with colleagues to support smooth workshop operations. * Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe working environment. Experience and Qualifications * Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role. * NVQ Level 3 * Strong mechanical knowledge across multiple makes and models. * Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively. * Confident communicator with management and teamworking skills. * Capable of working independently and making sound decisions under pressure. * Organised, reliable, and focused on productivity
