Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 4:30pm

Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to join their team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take a key role in leading, motivating and developing a team of Assessors, while ensuring consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment across a range of learning programmes. You will be responsible for maintaining robust Internal Quality Assurance processes, supporting continuous improvement, and helping to drive learner achievement, satisfaction, and progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Assessors to ensure high-quality learner experiences and delivery.
  • Monitor assessor performance, supporting development plans and targeted improvement where required.
  • Oversee sampling and verification activities to support learner progression and achievement.
  • Ensure delivery meets framework requirements and the standards of Awarding Organisations, Estyn, and MEDR.
  • Support Assessors with appropriate actions to ensure compliance and quality across programmes.
  • Ensure Assessors maintain effective engagement with employers throughout the learner journey.
  • Complete clear, accurate and detailed IQA reports to support performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure key themes including Safeguarding/Prevent, Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, Well-being, ESDGC and Welsh language and culture are embedded within delivery.
  • Participate in and manage EQA visits, ensuring portfolios and required evidence meet the required standards.
  • Work closely with senior quality and performance colleagues to drive improvements across the team.

About You

Our client is looking for someone with strong experience within apprenticeship delivery and quality assurance, with a thorough understanding of assessment and awarding organisation requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Assessor and IQA qualifications.
  • Relevant occupational competence.
  • Experience delivering training and learner support.
  • In-depth knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes and framework requirements.
  • Strong understanding of IQA processes and assessment methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements.
  • Good knowledge of Estyn inspection requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable

  • Experience of leading a team of IQAs.
  • Experience coordinating EQA visits.
  • Previous involvement in an Estyn inspection.
