Job description Multi-Skilled Engineer Vale of Glamorgan-Barry £43,439.76 initially rising to £45,900 Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 8am until 4pm for training (Approx 4 Months) Upon completion of training – Alternate weeks 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our clients Engineering team. The Multi-Skilled Engineer is primarily responsible for delivering preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance to the operations team across all aspects of the site assets and infrastructure and to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing equipment. They will also supervise and lead contractors, work, and adherence to PPM schedules. As an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be able to complete the designated preventative maintenance tasks, identify potential failures, and plan and execute corrective maintenance tasks. Being able to identify potential engineering / operational solutions to recurring failures and to implement and complete resolutions will also be required. An effective team member, you will demonstrate high competency in health and safety awareness as well as excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mechanical power systems and the ability to interpret and amend technical, mechanical, and electrical drawings are expected. Presenting a problem-solving can-do attitude will be key to success. Experience and / or qualifications in the following are critical to success * Discuss development of PPM schedules based on existing PPM’s and break down data. * Electrical maintenance (PLC’s fault-finding skills preferred) * Mechanical maintenance * Mechanical assembly * Motor fault finding * Electrical / Pneumatic / Hydraulic fault finding * Build relationships with engineering functions to enable continuous improvement * Root cause analysis * A minimum of an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering related subject, ideally mechatronics is required * Plant fitters may also be considered * Experience in a manufacturing environment /FMCG would be advantageous Job Type: Full-time
