Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am 4:30pm

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor or assessor who is passionate about supporting learners and helping them achieve their qualifications and reach their full potential.

The Role

As an Essential Skills Tutor, you will provide high-quality training, support, and assessment to apprenticeship learners throughout their programmes.

You will deliver and assess Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy, working with learners both through workshops and one-to-one sessions.

The role will also involve visiting learners in their workplaces across a regional area to carry out assessments and provide ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy training through workshops and one-to-one sessions.
  • Support learners to achieve their Essential Skills qualifications and meet framework requirements.
  • Register, conduct and invigilate controlled tasks in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Prepare, deliver, and mark teaching and assessment activities.
  • Participate in standardisation and quality assurance activities.
  • Engage effectively with learners and employers to support qualification achievement and skills development.
  • Maintain accurate learner and assessment records.
  • Ensure learner documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Deliver high-quality training programmes to assigned learners.
  • Travel within a regional area to assess learners within their workplaces.
  • Monitor learner progress and contribute towards agreed performance targets.
  • Maintain the quality standards required by internal and external quality assurers.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience within Work-Based Learning and awarding body practices, alongside experience delivering Essential Skills qualifications.

You will ideally be an engaging and supportive tutor who can build positive relationships with learners and employers, whilst maintaining a high standard of assessment and documentation.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of Work-Based Learning and awarding body practices.
  • Previous experience delivering Essential Skills qualifications.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check, with the cost covered by our client.
  • Willingness to obtain/maintain EWC registration.

Desirable

  • Relevant teaching, training, or assessing qualification such as A1 Assessor Award, TAQA, CAVA or equivalent. xiskglj
  • Welsh-speaking ability.
