We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. Duties
- Manage comprehensive payroll processing using industry-leading software such as Xero and SAGE.
- Ensure accurate data entry for employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information while maintaining meticulous records for audit purposes.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through detailed analysis of general ledger entries, account reconciliation processes, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll transactions; perform general ledger reconciliation to maintain financial accuracy.
- Conduct detailed analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or anomalies; implement corrective actions swiftly.
- Assist in audits related to payroll and financial reporting; prepare reports that support organisational decision-making.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate accounting or human resources environment.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll software such as Xero is essential.
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll processing and benefits administration is required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation and analyse financial data accurately.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
