We’re looking for an organised, proactive Programme Manager who enjoys working with clients, coordinating delivery and helping healthcare teams put change into practice.
About the role
You will manage a range of digital and transformation projects and programmes, keeping activities on track and ensuring clients receive clear communication and high-quality support.
Working with our Digital and Transformation Programme Lead and subject matter experts, you will translate agreed objectives into practical delivery plans, coordinate activities and monitor progress.
Programmes may cover access improvement, telephony, online consultations, NHS App adoption, digital inclusion and workflow redesign. You will work directly with NHS teams to understand their needs, support implementation and track the difference the work makes.
What you’ll do
- Manage allocated projects and programmes from planning and mobilisation through to completion.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, milestones, action trackers and records of risks and issues.
- Coordinate colleagues and subject matter experts so activities are delivered on time and to the agreed standard.
- Act as the day-to-day contact for clients, maintaining clear communication and following up on agreed actions.
- Organise and lead client meetings, discovery sessions, workshops and progress reviews.
- Monitor delivery against agreed scope, timescales and budgets, flagging potential problems early.
- Work with clients and colleagues to resolve issues, escalating more complex concerns to the Programme Lead.
- Produce clear reports, presentations and progress updates for internal and external audiences.
- Gather and review data and feedback to track outcomes and identify improvements.
- Maintain accurate programme records and contribute to better delivery tools and processes.
- Keep your knowledge of primary care and digital transformation up to date.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Experience managing projects, programmes or service improvement initiatives, including planning activities and coordinating delivery.
- A good understanding of general practice operations and the pressures facing frontline teams.
- Familiarity with digital systems used in primary care, such as clinical systems, telephony, online consultation tools or the NHS App.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Confidence building relationships with clients and working with colleagues from different professional backgrounds.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce useful reports and present progress.
- Confidence facilitating meetings and turning discussions into agreed actions.
- The ability to identify risks, solve practical problems and recognise when support or escalation is needed.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and confidence using digital tools to organise work.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally when required.
Desirable
- Experience working within or alongside GP practices, Primary Care Networks, federations or wider NHS organisations.
- Experience supporting digital adoption, access improvement or changes to working processes.
- Familiarity with primary care priorities, contracts and digital requirements.
- A project management qualification or relevant training.
- Experience using data to monitor progress and evaluate results.
Pay and benefits:
- Upto £40k pa dependent on experience
- 37 hours per week
- 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
