As our AML/KYC Manager, you will undertake a key day‑to‑day management role across our Operations team, serving as our first line of defence against financial crime. You will be responsible for maintaining high service standards, coaching and developing your team, and ensuring they have the skills and confidence to excel.
Workload Management
- Manage the daily operations of the KYC/AML team handling onboarding, periodic reviews, and trigger events.
- Monitor workloads to ensure all customer files are completed accurately in line with policy, procedures, and risk appetite.
- Oversee the allocation of work, monitor caseloads, and ensure SLAs and KPIs are consistently achieved.
Team Leadership & Development
- Coaching and evaluating team members, tackling challenges proactively and positively.
- Creating a team environment that is energised, supportive, and focused on shared success.
- Supporting team members with their personal and professional development.
Quality Assurance & Risk Control
- Perform or oversee quality checks on KYC files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Identify and escalate high‑risk or complex cases (PEPs, sanctions hits, adverse media) to the second line Financial Crime team.
- Act as the first point of escalation for analysts and provide decision‑making guidance.
- Monitor trends in errors, defects, or control gaps and implement improvements.
Maintaining Standards
- Promote a culture of excellent client outcomes, ensuring the team prioritises customer care and operates in line with Consumer Duty expectations.
- Ensure the team consistently meets service standards, aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Hold at least one of: CISI Level 3 Investment Operations Certificate qualification or ICA Advanced Certificate/Diploma in Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) and be committed to obtaining the other within a maximum of two years.
- Proven experience in coaching and developing people, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Strong operational background in KYC/AML processing within a first line environment.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing high‑volume onboarding or review teams.
- Solid understanding of CDD, EDD, PEP/sanctions screening, and document verification.
