A Principal Account Manager is sought to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing team in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, contributing to the profitable growth and development of existing customer accounts. The Principal Account Manager will be responsible for managing customer relationships throughout the sales lifecycle, from quotation and contract review through to order fulfilment.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead RFQs, quote submissions and follow-ups for existing and new business opportunities
- Manage contract reviews and ensure orders are processed in line with company procedures
- Liaise with procurement, manufacturing and internal stakeholders to meet customer delivery expectations
- Develop strong relationships with key customer contacts and carry out regular business reviews
- Identify new sales opportunities and support long-term profitable account growth
- Produce and maintain sales reports while working towards and exceeding sales targets
- Support the Head of Sales with sales strategy and the development, mentoring and day-to-day management of the Account Management team
The Principal Account Manager will have the following key skills:
- Account management or sales experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Strong technical understanding, ideally within electrical engineering or contract electronics manufacturing
- Proven success in developing long-term customer relationships and exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail and sound business judgement
