A Buyer is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, contributing to the procurement of materials, components and services within a manufacturing environment.
The Buyer, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, will manage suppliers, purchasing activities and supply chain requirements, helping to maintain stock levels, reduce risk and drive commercial improvements.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers and raise purchase orders using MRP requirements
- Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery and commercial terms
- Monitor and expedite purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Support engineering changes, new product introductions and ERP updates
- Identify and manage supply chain risks and supplier disruptions
- Drive cost savings, process improvements and competitive tendering
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and other internal teams
- Monitor supplier performance and support KPI reporting
The Buyer, Hatfield, Hertfordshire, will have the following key skills:
- Previous purchasing or supply chain experience
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems
- Strong negotiation, communication and supplier management xgikmsk skills
- PCBA/PCB Experience
- Good numerical and Excel skills
- Proactive, organised and analytical approach to problem solving
- Manufacturing or engineering experience would be advantageous
