Are you an experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in C++ and ROS2, combined with a background in robotics and Linux environments? Are you based in the Cambridge area, or interested in joining one of the UK's leading centres for robotics and technology innovation?

If so, our client - an innovative tech-for-good start-up - is looking to hire a Robotics Software Engineer based in Cambridge, UK, supporting operations across both UK and EU teams.

Key responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and test software systems for advanced robotic platforms using C++ & ROS 2.
  • Collaborate with electronics, mechatronics, and research teams within an Agile development environment.
  • Test, debug, and validate software performance and reliability.
  • Provide on-site support for physical robotic systems, including occasional travel to field locations.
To be successful, you should have:
  • 3 Years experience in an industry Software Design position.
  • A degree (or Master's) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong commercial experience with C++ (C++14 or later) and Linux.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with ROS2 (ROS1 knowledge also beneficial).
  • Experience with robotics software development and integration.
