Are you an experienced Industrial Engineering Manager with a passion for Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement and operational excellence?
We are seeking a talented engineering leader to manage and develop an Industrial Engineering team within a highly successful electromechanical manufacturing business. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in driving productivity, improving manufacturing performance and supporting future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Industrial Engineers
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Improve productivity, labour efficiency, quality and throughput
- Develop labour standards, time studies and capacity planning models
- Optimise manufacturing processes, factory layouts and material flow
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, productivity and utilisation
- Lead value stream mapping and process improvement projects
- Support automation, process optimisation and capital investment projects
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Quality teams
About You
- Degree qualified in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering
- Previous experience leading Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering teams
- Strong Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience
- Experience within low to medium volume, high-mix manufacturing
- Strong understanding of capacity planning, labour standards and production processes
- CAD experience, ideally SolidWorks
- Excellent analytical, project management and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing KPIs
Desirable
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above
- Experience within electromechanical, automotive, robotics, automation or precision engineering sectors
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and automation technologies
- Experience delivering capital investment and productivity improvement projects
