A Test Technician is sought to join an innovative engineering team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, contributing to the testing, validation, and quality assurance of analogue and digital electronic assemblies. The Test Technician will be expected to develop your understanding in the field, learning from peers and senior engineers in technical areas and industry best practices. This may include electronic testing processes, SMT production methods, and quality standards such as IPC and ISO.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with production and engineering teams to define test requirements and specifications.
  • Carry out electronic testing of products using appropriate test equipment and procedures.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for production units in line with customer specifications.
  • Debug and validate electronic assemblies using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and circuit diagrams.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams for seamless manufacturing and testing integration.
  • Maintain comprehensive test documentation and accurately record defect data.
  • Support production and internal teams with fault finding and quality-related queries.

Key skills & experience:

  • ONC in Electronics or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment and understanding of SMT processes.
  • Practical experience with fault finding to component level and interpreting BOMs and drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
