A Product Cybersecurity & Firmware Engineer is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Newark, Nottinghamshire, contributing to the development of secure, network-connected embedded products for industry-leading assistive listening solutions. The Product Cybersecurity & Firmware Engineer, Newark, Nottinghamshire, will be expected to develop and apply your expertise in embedded software development, cybersecurity, and secure networking technologies. Working closely with firmware, software, hardware, compliance, and product management teams, you will play a key role in ensuring products are secure, compliant, and ready for deployment in global markets. Lead product cybersecurity assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, risks, and required mitigation strategies. Design and develop secure network-connected product functionality using Embedded C/C++. Implement secure communication protocols such as TLS, and other network security technologies. Develop, test, debug, and maintain production-quality embedded software for connected products. Collaborate with firmware, software, hardware, and compliance teams to deliver secure and compliant product features. Contribute to design reviews, technical problem-solving, and cybersecurity best practices across product development teams. Support compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards including IEC 62443, EN18031, and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Produce and maintain technical documentation to support product certification, regulatory compliance, and customer cybersecurity requirements. Assist with customer cybersecurity assessments and provide technical responses to security-related enquiries. Support the development of reusable cybersecurity architectures, design patterns, and engineering standards across multiple product lines. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience. Strong experience developing embedded software within network-connected or IoT products. Experience implementing secure communication protocols including TCP/IP, TLS, and related networking technologies. Knowledge of low-level embedded development, including bare-metal programming and device driver development.
