My client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join their growing team, working on the design, development and support of advanced laser systems for highly specialised industrial applications.

This is a hands-on role where you will be involved in the development of bespoke laser systems, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture, installation and commissioning whilst working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.

In this Senior Laser Systems Engineer role based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Development of bespoke laser systems, including component selection, system layouts and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Managing the design process, ensuring projects are delivered to specification, on time and within budget.
  • Supporting the build, testing, installation and commissioning of laser systems, providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Carrying out servicing, fault finding and technical support activities to ensure systems continue to operate at optimum performance.

The successful applicant for this Senior Laser Systems Engineer job based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire should have:

  • Experience designing and developing complex laser & optical based systems within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • A strong understanding of design, system integration and engineering documentation, with experience producing technical drawings.
  • Experience with installation, servicing, fault finding or commissioning of complex laser engineering equipment would be advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's, Master's or Ph D in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, Laser Engineering or a related engineering or scientific discipline.
