A Production Engineer is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, contributing to the manufacturing, testing and continuous improvement of advanced fire detection products. The Production Engineer will support day-to-day manufacturing, new product introduction and process improvement, working closely with production, quality and supply chain teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting production teams with technical problem solving and engineering expertise
- Leading continuous improvement and NPI activities
- Developing and updating SOPs, process documentation and operating instructions
- Supporting PCBA testing, test equipment and production software
- Investigating test failures and driving root cause and corrective actions
- Developing and improving manufacturing and testing processes
- Working with suppliers and internal teams on PCBA testing and new product introduction
The Production Engineer will have the following key skills:
- Manufacturing engineering experience with a strong electronics bias
- Experience working with PCBs/PCBAs and production testing
- Experience with continuous improvement and structured problem solving
- Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand or similar test software would be advantageous
- Strong analytical, communication and project management skills
