If so, our client is actively hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge, developing cutting-edge autonomous fruit harvesting robots that are transforming the future of agriculture.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer, based in Cambridge, will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing next-generation autonomous robotic harvesting platforms
  • Creating production-standard 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
  • Designing robotic mechanisms, actuators, end-effectors, and integrated mechatronic systems
  • Managing cross-functional communication between mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, vision and machine learning teams
  • Producing and maintaining design packs and manufacturing packs
  • Conducting tolerance analysis, GD&T and FEA to verify and validate designs

To apply for this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you should have:

  • Degree, HNC or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience designing robotics, automation equipment, moving machinery or mechatronic products
  • Strong SolidWorks experience, including production-standard drawings and assemblies
  • Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T and design for manufacture principles
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, casting, CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience using FEA tools to verify and optimise designs
