Our client, an established supplier of electronic components and technical solutions, are looking for an Area Sales Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a customer-facing sales role focused on developing new business, growing existing accounts and maximising revenue across a designated customer portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a profitable portfolio of existing and new customers
  • Drive design-in activity and promote the full range of products and services
  • Develop account strategies and identify new markets, applications and opportunities
  • Manage sales enquiries through to order and take commercial ownership of customer relationships
  • Achieve or exceed sales and gross profit targets
  • Manage customer inventory and support VMI programmes where required
  • Attend customer meetings, QBRs and industry events
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements
  • Work closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve commercial and operational issues

Experience required:

  • Strong knowledge of the electronics industry and electronic components
  • Proven track record in business development and key account management
  • Experience identifying new customers, markets and applications
  • Commercially driven with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with VMI and/or customer inventory solutions desirable
  • Sourcing/procurement knowledge and experience
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
  • Experience working to sales and gross profit budgets
  • Good IT skills and experience using ERP systems
