Our client, a well-established electronics manufacturing services provider, is looking for an SMT Machine Operator to join their team on a permanent basis in Berkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing manufacturing business operating from a modern facility, supporting the production of high-quality electronic assemblies for customers across a diverse range of industries.

Key responsibilities of the SMT Machine Operator job in Berkshire

Load and prepare feeders for SMT production requirements.

Carry out PCB setup and handling for production line processes.

Set up and operate solder paste printing equipment, including stencil loading, programme creation, production processing, and stencil cleaning.

Set up, programme, and operate SMT placement machines.

Create and maintain machine programmes in line with production requirements.

Process production runs efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Strip machines following production and return components to kits in the correct order.

Operate reflow ovens to process assembled PCBs.

Follow work instructions, build documentation, and quality procedures accurately.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.

Experience required for the SMT Machine Operator job in Berkshire. Experience in a similar SMT manufacturing role.

Good knowledge of PCB-level SMT component assembly.

Basic understanding of PCB technologies.

Strong knowledge of SMT assembly processes and manufacturing techniques.

Experience reading and following work/build instructions.

Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) would be advantageous.

Understanding of Moisture Sensitivity Levels(MSL).
