An excellent opportunity for an experienced Platform Mobile RF Engineer to join a leading UK-based developer of high-reliability TETRA and LTE radio terminals. This hands-on role will involve designing, implementing, and verifying mobile RF platforms, contributing to advanced technology prototypes, and ensuring architectural integrity in line with product roadmaps.
This role is ideal for a technically strong individual with proven mobile RF design experience, who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and can manage multiple tasks effectively.
Main Responsibilities of the Platform Mobile RF Engineer based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire:
Evaluate architectural and system impacts of new product designs from a mobile RF perspective
Work closely with system, digital baseband, and software engineers to define balanced product architectures
Bring hardware architectures to life in functional Advanced Technology Group prototypes
Ensure architectural integrity of hardware solutions aligned with technology roadmaps
Design and bring up mobile RF platforms from concept to functional prototypes
Define, implement, and supervise PCB layout for RF solutions
Utilise RF simulation tools for verification and optimisation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with baseband and software systems
Requirements of the Platform Mobile RF Engineer based in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire:
At least 5 years\’ proven industry experience in mobile RF design
Strong PCB-level RF design background
Experience with GSM/LTE mobile platforms and reference designs (e.G., Qualcomm, MediaTek)
Hands-on experience designing and bringing-up mobile RF platforms from the ground up
Experience defining, implementing, and supervising PCB layout design
Familiarity with RF simulation tools (e.G., ADS, MWO)
Strong problem-solving, numerical, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team
