Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-precision instrumentation and sensors for a variety of industries, are looking for a Buyer based in Lymington to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an office-based role supporting the Purchasing Department, ensuring the timely flow of materials to meet production requirements and supporting new product enquiries. Key responsibilities of the Buyer job based in Lymington: Raise purchase orders using the company's ERP system, SYSPRO. Ensure order acknowledgements are received and meet delivery requirements. Maintain accurate procurement and inventory data. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Negotiate pricing, savings and favourable commercial terms. Manage supplier performance, risk and timely delivery. Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability. Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Planning and Engineering teams. Support KPI, supplier performance and continuous improvement activities. Experience required for the Buyer job based in Lymington: Minimum of 2 years' procurement/purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing. Experience of direct and/or indirect purchasing. Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience using MRP/ERP systems. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to meet operational and commercial targets. Highly organised, resilient and able to work well under pressure. Desirable experience for the Buyer job based in Lymington: Experience using SYSPRO ERP. Ability to read and understand basic 2D technical drawings. Mechanical knowledge. Experience working with product development teams and component selection.
