A Buyer is sought to join an innovative electronics business in Newbury, Berkshire, contributing to the procurement and supply of electronic components to support customer demand and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Work with supply chain, operations, quality, and sales teams to ensure continuity of supply and accurate material planning.
  • Create and maintain purchase orders, RFQs, and supplier data using Sage X3 and MRP systems.
  • Develop and execute procurement and expediting activities to support customer demand and fluctuating production requirements.
  • Monitor, track, and manage supplier deliveries, inbound logistics, and order confirmations using MRP tools and supplier portals.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal quality teams to resolve delivery, pricing, and quality issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive procurement, pricing, and supplier documentation, ensuring system accuracy and data integrity.
  • Support sales and operational teams with accurate delivery information, pricing updates, and supply chain insights.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in procurement or buying, ideally within the electronics or manufacturing sector, or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Proficiency with MRP / ERP systems, ideally Sage X3, and strong general IT skills.
  • Practical experience with supplier negotiation, RFQs, expediting, and inventory control.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organisational, and commercial skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong supplier and internal relationships.
