This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience in the assembly, wiring and integration of highly specialised laser and precision machinery.
Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you will learn how to build bespoke equipment from concept through to completion using engineering drawings and schematics.
In this Junior Electromechanical Technician role based in Oxfordshire, you will be responsible for the following: Assisting with the assembly of bespoke machinery using schematic and layout drawings.
Supporting the fitting, wiring and build of precision laser-based machinery and equipment.
Installing electrical components in accordance with engineering schematics and drawings.
Carrying out electrical wiring, module wiring and soldered connector assembly under guidance.
Using hand tools, measuring equipment, hand drills and pillar drills to complete build activities.
Supporting fault finding, testing, quality assurance and repair activities.
Working closely with experienced team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment at all times.
The successful applicant for this Junior Electromechanical Technician job based in Oxfordshire should have: A keen interest in electrical and mechanical engineering.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or a willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Experience using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, spanners, wire strippers and drills.
A basic understanding of electrical wiring, assembly techniques or mechanical fitting.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong work ethic.
Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, assembly or technician environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
GCSEs, A Levels, BTEC qualifications, an apprenticeship, or equivalent qualifications demonstrating an aptitude for electrical and mechanical engineering.
