Job Description
My client design and manufacture a range of electronic products that are sold all over the world.
They currently require an IT Support Engineer – Windows, to join their team.
They are a very well established and profitable company in Hertfordshire.
As a high tech company, they have several employees who are IT savvy but have reached a stage where they feel they need a full time IT support person on site. They are not necessarily expecting someone who can cover every aspect of IT for them straight away, and are happy for someone to develop in the role with some training and support.
They are hoping for someone who's had some exposure to Desktop, Server and Network support, but expect people to be stronger in some areas than others.
Duties of the IT Support Engineer – Windows will include:
- Assist with the support, security and documentation of IT systems throughout the company, including off site workers.
- Assist with commissioning and maintenance of IT systems throughout the company, production automation and test equipment.
The successful applicant for the IT Support Engineer – Windows will be involved in support / maintenance of:
- Workstations currently running Windows 10
- File servers running Debian(Linux)
- PostgreSQL database server
- Automated back-up systems
- Networks and Wi Fi within the building and VPNs for off-site workers
This vacancy is suitable for an enthusiastic person having a practical understanding of computer systems who wishes to extend their knowledge in an industrial environment. On-site training will be provided and, if required, external training will also be available.
