Are you a Senior Test Development Engineer with strong experience in automated test systems and high-power electronics, looking to shape next-generation battery charging technology? Our client, a global leader in green energy tech, is expanding their specialist R&D team in Glasgow, Scotland. This hybrid role offers clear progression, technical ownership, and the chance to influence test strategy for cutting-edge power solutions used in robotics, defence, rail, and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop automated test systems for high-power battery chargers and AC/DC converters.
- Create test architectures covering validation, characterisation, and production test.
- Design hardware-in-the-loop and power-stage test setups using advanced lab instrumentation.
- Build, optimise, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks (LabVIEW/Python).
- Work closely with design teams to drive reliability, safety, and compliance improvements.
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in test development for power electronics or high-power systems.
- Strong LabVIEW and/or Python programming for automation and data analysis.
- Background in power converters, magnetics, switching devices, or control systems.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, dataloggers, power meters, and test rigs.
- Industry exposure in defence, data centres, industrial, traction, or similar sectors is a plus.
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
