Job Description Sewing Machinist / Industrial Sewing Operative \n Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex \n Salary: Competitive + Benefits \n Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent \n Sewing Machinist Jobs in Southend | Industrial Sewing Operator | Manufacturing Jobs Essex \n We are currently recruiting for a Sewing Machinist / Industrial Sewing Operative to join a busy production team within a well-established aerospace manufacturing business in Southend-on-Sea. \n This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating industrial sewing machines and overlockers, who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing high-quality products. \n The Role \n Working within the Machine Shop, you will be responsible for sewing and assembling cut materials into finished covers and components, ensuring all products are manufactured to the required quality standards and specifications. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n Operating industrial sewing machines and overlockers to manufacture finished products. \n Overlocking cut parts following established procedures and training guidelines. \n Sewing cut components into complete items using drawings, templates, work instructions, and sample products. \n Maintaining sewing machines and overlockers, including routine cleaning and oiling. \n Ensuring product traceability is maintained throughout the manufacturing process. \n Supporting colleagues and assisting with additional production tasks when required. \n Maintaining high housekeeping standards across the work area. \n Following all company quality, health & safety, and manufacturing procedures. \n \n What We're Looking For \n \n Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist, Industrial Sewing Operator, Seamstress, Upholstery Sewer, Textile Operative, or Manufacturing Sewing Operator. \n Experience using industrial sewing machines and overlockers. \n Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. \n Strong team player with a positive and flexible attitude. \n Understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment. \n Aerospace, automotive, upholstery, textile, or manufacturing experience would be advantageous. \n \n Permanent, full-time position. \n Opportunity to join a growing and well-respected manufacturing business. \n Training and development opportunities. \n Competitive salary and benefits package. \n \n If you have experience in industrial sewing, textile manufacturing, upholstery, or sewing machine operation and are looking for your next opportunity in Southend-on-Sea, we'd love to hear from you. \n Apply today to be considered for this Sewing Machinist opportunity based in Southend- on-sea.
