Overview

Electronics/Embedded Design Engineer – Fully Remote. Remote (United Kingdom) with occasional office visits to Leicester. Redline has been retained by a global leader in power electronics solutions who are looking for an Electronics/Embedded Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team.

Due to skills shortages and expansion, the role involves design and development of large-scale power systems, including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Static Var Compensators and Variable Speed Drives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and manufacture analogue and digital electronic circuits
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, commission and test electronic devices and equipment
  • Develop embedded firmware and software for microcontrollers and processors
  • Work on UPS systems primarily, with occasional work on static compensators and variable speed drives
  • PCB layout and prototyping
  • Collaborate with a small engineering team in the UK and the US

Key skills and experience

  • Proven experience in analogue and digital circuit design at a high level
  • Embedded programming using C or C++ (self-sufficient across multiple software files)
  • PCB layout and development
  • Robust experience in an Electronics Design role
  • Experience with embedded firmware for microcontrollers and processors
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
