A CNC Machinist is sought to join an innovative engineering team in Basildon, Essex, contributing to the manufacture, machining and assembly of precision-engineered components. The CNC Machinist will be expected to develop machining skills across CNC and manual processes, with training available in programming, CAM and other areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating CNC machinery using Heidenhain TNC 620 and Siemens 840 controls
- Carrying out basic CNC programming where possible
- Machining components to required specifications and quality standards
- Undertaking mechanical fitting and disassembly work
- Operating manual milling machines where required
- Using CAM systems, with training provided where necessary
- Operating cylindrical and surface grinders where required
The CNC Machinist will have the following key skills:
- Experience setting CNC machinery
- Familiarity with Heidenhain or Siemens controls
- Basic CNC programming knowledge would be advantageous
- Mechanical fitting or assembly experience
- Manual milling, grinding or CAM experience would be beneficial
