A dynamic and fast-growing provider of corporate, fiduciary, and regulatory services is seeking a highly skilled mid-level attorney to take on a dual role as Privacy Counsel and Data Protection Officer. This organisation works with leading private equity firms, hedge funds, CLO managers, trusts, and global financial institutions, offering a genuinely international and commercially focused environment.

As a key member of the in-house legal team, you will be the primary point of contact for all data protection and privacy matters, playing a critical role in shaping and overseeing global data governance. You will ensure robust compliance with data protection laws across multiple jurisdictions while safeguarding personal data throughout the business.

The Role

  • Own and define the organisation’s global data protection framework
  • Monitor compliance with applicable data protection and privacy laws across all jurisdictions
  • Design, maintain, and enforce data protection and information security policies, procedures, and privacy notices
  • Advise on and oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), including mitigation and remediation strategies
  • Partner closely with IT and operational teams on access controls and security measures
  • Deliver training and promote a strong culture of privacy and data security across the organisation
  • Manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and ensure timely, compliant responses
  • Act as the primary point of contact for supervisory authorities and data subjects

About You

  • Qualified solicitor with specialist experience in data protection and privacy compliance
  • Strong understanding of global data protection frameworks, ideally within financial services
  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining data protection programmes in a complex, international environment
  • Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent are highly desirable
