A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Conflicts & New Business Associate Manager to join its London office. This role will oversee a team responsible for conflicts clearance, new business intake and AML processes across UK and European offices.
This is a hands-on operational management role, combining team leadership with active involvement in complex conflicts, AML reviews and new matter intake. The successful candidate will supervise a team of analysts, manage workflow and service delivery, and act as a key point of contact for partners and internal stakeholders.
Working in a fast-paced environment, the role requires strong judgement, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining high compliance and service standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting a team of Conflicts and AML Analysts
- Managing day-to-day workflow and prioritising urgent new business requests
- Overseeing conflicts searches, AML reviews and matter opening processes
- Providing guidance on firm policies and regulatory requirements
- Acting as an escalation point for operational issues
- Building strong relationships with partners and internal teams
Key requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in conflicts, new business intake, risk or compliance within a professional services environment (ideally an international law firm)
- Prior team leadership or supervisory experience
- Familiarity with conflicts and risk management systems (e.g. Intapp) and compliance screening tools
- Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills
