We are recognised as being a forward thinking and innovative practice that provides a high standard of patient care. Our multi-disciplinary practice-based team includes 3 Urgent Care Paramedics, a Clinical Pharmacist led prescribing team, and a remote GP team who support with administrative work. We are also an active member of the Mid Devon Healthcare PCN with additional support from PCN ARRS staff including a strong social prescribing team and an in-house Mental Health Practitioner.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we look to shape and develop services for patients from our new building and site. We are rated good by CQC and scored 96% on last year's QOF report. We offer a contract based on the BMA Model and are happy to work with the right candidate to ensure the job plan fits your needs. Initially the post will be salaried, but we would welcome anyone who might wish to be a partner after an agreed trial period, joining our Pathway to Partnership Scheme. We are a training practice with two GP Registrar trainers, an F2 trainer and we also host medical students. We would welcome anyone with an interest in education.
Main duties of the job
- In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions in paper or electronically and dealing with queries, patient test results, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Collecting data for audit purposes.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
- Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within Primary Care.

Qualifications
- Not be prohibited from providing services due to regulation breaches (e.g., NHS Performers Lists Regulations).

- Not be subject to any interim suspension orders from the GMC under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983.
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Hold appropriate medical indemnity insurance covering all professional duties.
- Successfully complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Possess a valid digital badge for secure system access and patient care delivery.
- Be willing to engage in ongoing professional development as required.
