Are you a highly organised operations professional with a background supporting senior leaders in a law firm environment? Perhaps you started your career as an Executive Assistant or Board-level PA and have since moved into legal operations, business support or departmental management. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing and ambitious Top 100 UK commercial law firm as a Business Operations Manager, supporting senior leadership within a national legal department.
Working closely with Department Heads and Partners, you’ll play a central role in driving operational excellence, improving processes, coordinating strategic initiatives and ensuring the smooth running of a busy legal function.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting Department Heads with operational and strategic management activities
- Coordinating partner and departmental meetings, projects and action plans
- Assisting with financial reporting, KPI monitoring and performance tracking
- Driving best practice, compliance and audit readiness
- Supporting business development activity, directory submissions and marketing initiatives
- Coordinating training, recruitment and people processes
- Managing departmental projects and transformation initiatives
- Acting as a key liaison between Partners, Finance, HR, Risk and Business Development teams
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a similar Business Operations, Legal Operations or Practice Management role within a law firm
- Alternatively, significant experience as a Senior EA / PA supporting Board-level stakeholders, with subsequent operational management experience
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with financial data and KPIs
- The ability to influence, challenge and build strong working relationships across senior teams
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
