Redland Bodyworks is a well established independent garage based in Redland (BS6), with over 30 years of experience in the industry. We are a small team and are looking for a dedicated vehicle preparation technician to join us part time. As a small team, we value versatility and a proactive, can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will be eager to get involved in all aspects of bodywork preparation and repair. This role also offers the opportunity to develop skills, including paintwork and welding.

Responsibilities

  • Assess damaged vehicles and determine the necessary repairs needed to restore them to their pre-accident condition
  • Stripping and fitting panels and components accurately according to specifications
  • Panel straightening and filling
  • Utilising hand tools, power tools and welding equipment to repair or replace damaged panels
  • Masking and prepping vehicles ready for spraying
  • Dust inclusion removal and polishing on sprayed panels
  • Keeping the workshop and tools clean and maintained
  • Post-repair vehicle washing

Skills

  • Ability to work well in a small team
  • Ensure efficient workflow and high quality results
  • Good customer service - able to deal with walk in and phone enquiries, directing them to other team members as necessary
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
  • Attention to detail and a ‘can do’ attitude

Schedule

  • Day shift 9am-5pm Monday to Wednesday - (24 hours per week)
  • Company pension

  • £16p/h- £19.50p/h based on experience
