Legal Assistant

Location: Cardiff Contract: Permanent, Full-time Hours: 35 hours, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm Start Date: ASAP

Do you have the organisation and attention to detail to make a real difference to vulnerable clients and support high‑quality casework? At Redkite Solicitors,we’reseekinga proactive, compassionateand detail‑orientedLegal Assistant to support our Court of Protection team in delivering exceptional client service and practical legal support.

As a key part of our Court of Protection team in Cardiff ,you’llwork closely with Fee Earners to support the day‑to‑day management of matters effectively and efficiently. Fromassistingwith client meetings to helping manage financial affairs andmaintainaccuratefiles,you’llplay a key role in supporting clients and helping deliver a responsive, high‑quality service.

Candidates should be aware that their first day of employment may be based at an alternative Redkite office, for group onboarding. A willingness to travel and spend the day away from your usual place of work is therefore required.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Be the support behind every matter – help Fee Earners stay organised, manage workloads effectively, and deliver an excellent client experience from start to finish.
  • Take ownership of case administration – open and manage files with precision, prepare documents, and keep records accurate , compliant, and up to date.
  • Support vulnerable clients with care – assist with the management of financial affairs, ensuring matters are handled accurately, sensitively, and professionally.
  • Keep legal work moving – draft correspondence, prepare supporting documentation, and carry out legal research to support day‑to‑day case progression.
  • Keep communication flowing – liaise confidently with clients, third parties and colleagues to ensure queries, updates and next steps are handled promptly.
  • Create a positive first impression – handle new client enquiries efficiently and warmly, ensuring every potential client receives a professional introduction to our services.

Requirements

  • Organised and detail‑oriented – you take pride in keeping correspondence,recordsand compliance processesaccurateandwell managed.
  • Flexibility to travel - when required - this role requires access to a car when needed.
  • A confident communicator – you build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and third parties through clear, professional and friendly communication.
  • Proactive and motivated – you bring a can‑do attitude, use your initiative and are happy to get stuck into a wide variety of tasks.
  • Resourceful and solutions‑focused – you can manage competing priorities, stay calm under pressure and keep work moving forward effectively.
  • Strong IT skills – you’re confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel, and can pick up new systems quickly.
  • Relevant experience or qualifications – a law degree or previous Court of Protection experience would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
