About the job

Location: Scotland (field-based with travel)

Employer: We are working with a leading distributor of industrial automation & control products to recruit a Product Sales Specialist for their Automation & Software team. This is a technical sales role where you will be responsible for supporting existing customers and developing new business across Scotland, with a focus on PLC, HMI and software solutions, plus complementary third-party products.

The role will include:

  • Driving profitable growth of the Automation & Software business in your region
  • Building and developing new business opportunities and target accounts
  • Providing technical advice, pre-sales support and training to customers and colleagues
  • Delivering workshops and joint customer visits with colleagues and partners
  • Acting as a trusted specialist for automation and software solutions

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an HNC/HND or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Has strong technical knowledge of PLC, HMI and Software products
  • Ideally has industrial field sales experience (not essential)
  • Is confident building relationships, solving problems, and delivering technical solutions
