A major distributor of industrial automation and control solutions is hiring a Mechatronics & Vision Business Development Consultant to cover the Midlands and South of England. Your job is to spot opportunities early, open doors, and support regional sales teams with mechatronics, ICT, and vision-solution conversations. You will work with account managers, franchise partners, and internal technical teams to build pipelines, convert new business, and help customers understand the value of the wider solution offering. You will be involved in identifying opportunities, attending customer visits, following up warm leads, providing technical guidance, and keeping activity and opportunities accurate in Dynamics 365. You will also support the development of commercial and technical capability across sales teams and act as a key link between regions, business units, and franchise partners.
Responsibilities:
- Spot opportunities early, open doors, and support regional sales teams with mechatronics, ICT, and vision-solution conversations.
- Work with account managers, franchise partners, and internal technical teams to build pipelines, convert new business, and help customers understand the value of the wider solution offering.
- Identify opportunities, attend customer visits, follow up warm leads, provide technical guidance, and keep activity and opportunities accurate in Dynamics 365.
- Support the development of commercial and technical capability across sales teams and act as a key link between regions, business units, and franchise partners.
Qualifications:
- You’ll likely come from automation, control, mechatronics, or a similar technical environment.
- Knowledge of mechatronics or independent cart technology is ideal.
- An electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND level or similar) is helpful but not essential if you’ve got strong hands-on industry background.
- You’ll need strong communication skills, confidence influencing at senior level, and the ability to plan your time effectively across a large territory.
