We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established distributor within the industrial automation and controls sector. The business continues to grow across the UK and is investing heavily in people, capability and technology. As part of that growth, they are looking to appoint an Account Manager to strengthen their presence across Scotland.

This is a home-based role, and the successful candidate must be based in Scotland. The company already has a solid customer base in the region, with around 70 active accounts and a spend of approximately £2M. There is still significant scope to develop the territory further, and this role suits someone who is proactive, commercially driven and confident being the face of the business for the region.

Most of your time will be spent visiting customers across Scotland and parts of the North West. You will be speaking with engineers, buyers and senior decision-makers, uncovering opportunities and guiding customers towards suitable automation and control solutions. You won’t be doing this alone: an established internal sales team provides day-to-day support, and technical product specialists are available to join you on more complex meetings when needed.

This role will appeal to someone who enjoys building long-term relationships, is naturally inquisitive about technical products, and is comfortable working with autonomy. A background in automation or controls would be an advantage, but not essential. What matters most is the ability to win new business, manage your own diary, communicate professionally and deliver a reliable service to customers. Full training will be provided on the product range.

The package includes a basic salary of up to £46,000 depending on experience, supported by monthly commission, an annual bonus scheme and a choice between a company car or car allowance, including electric vehicle options. The wider benefits package covers private medical cover, wellbeing support, generous holiday allowances, share schemes, enhanced family leave, LinkedIn Learning access, employee discounts and cycle to work options.

If you are an experienced Account Manager based in Scotland and interested in representing a respected name within industrial automation, we would welcome a conversation. Please get in touch for further information or a confidential discussion.
