Overview

We're Redis. We built the product that runs the fast apps our world runs on. At Redis, you’ll work with the fastest, simplest technology in the business—whether you’re building it, telling its story, or selling it to our 10,000+ worldwide customers. We’re creating a faster world with simpler experiences.

Redis is seeking a full-time Senior Commercial Counsel to join our dynamic superstar Legal team. As a Senior Commercial Counsel, you will be a critical member of our Commercial Legal team, supporting Redis’ global Sales and Procurement teams with enterprise software licensing, SaaS agreements, and strategic commercial partnerships. You'll lead commercial and legal discussions with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to ensure optimal deal structuring and risk management across our commercial agreements. You’ll report directly to our Deputy General Counsel, Commercial & International.

We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset, high integrity, sound judgment, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines. If you have sound and practical business judgment and can provide business-oriented, practical Legal advice on commercial transactions, then this is the perfect challenge for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead contract negotiations for all contractual matters, including SaaS purchases, hardware purchases, real estate leases, insurance, contractors, and other supplier requests (including DPAs).
  • Drive complex deal closure by reviewing, advising, and negotiating a variety of sales agreements, including enterprise commercial licenses (SaaS and On-Prem), data processing agreements (GDPR, CCPA), professional services, channel partner, non-disclosure, and strategic commercial partnerships.
  • Partner cross-functionally with business teams such as procurement, sales, deal desk, finance, and security to accelerate transaction closure and optimize deal terms.
  • Lead process optimization and related policies for contracts through the use of AI and other automation tools to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Identify and resolve legal and regulatory issues related to commercial contracts.
  • Help maintain and improve templates, including improving commercial contracting playbooks in collaboration with other Legal team members.
  • Draft and negotiate amendments for existing agreements, as needed.
  • Support inbound software and SaaS agreements, by drafting, negotiating and executing a variety of supply chain/procurement related contracts and amendments.

What will you need to have:

  • JD from an ABA accredited university, and admission to the State Bar where you are located.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience working specifically on software licensing and SaaS agreements (law firm and/or in-house).
  • Demonstrated experience with AI-based tools for enhanced redlining and legal research.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance on moderate to highly complex problems while contributing successfully to cross-functional teams impacted.
  • Deep knowledge in your own discipline, basic understanding of related disciplines, and may lead projects or act as a resource for colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage high-volume deal flow, follow through and meet deadlines.
  • Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor or collaborative spirit!

Extra great if you have:

  • Prior in-house experience preferred, particularly at a high-growth technology company.
  • Undergraduate degree in a business or technology field.
  • Experience with international commercial agreements and data localization requirements.

We give back to our employees. Our culture is what makes Redis a fun and rewarding place to work. To support you at work and beyond, we offer all our US team members fantastic benefits and perks:

  • Competitive salaries and equity grants.
  • Unlimited time off to promote a healthy work-life balance.
  • H/D/V coverage along with 401K, FSA, and commuter benefits.
  • Frequent team celebrations and recreation events.
  • Home internet & phone stipend.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Ability to influence a high-performance company on its way to IPO.
