Our independent Manager Research team is responsible for researching and selecting best-in-class asset managers from across the globe for our clients to invest in. The Private Markets research function within the Manager Research team is unconflicted in its whole of market approach and is responsible for researching, selecting and monitoring private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate asset managers across a diversified range of global, emerging and regional private markets strategies.
We are looking for you to join our Private Markets Manager Research team, where you’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting in-depth fund manager due diligence through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, with a primary focus on private equity.
- Driving the continued build-out of our private equity research and strategy offerings for clients.
- Presenting and articulating fund manager recommendations to the Investment Strategy Committee, clients, prospects and internal stakeholders.
- Closely monitoring the evolution of fund manager skill against their objectives post-selection.
- Actively contributing to the continual improvement of Redington’s Manager Research process.
- Working on bespoke client requests for manager selection exercises, new market evaluations, deep dive diligence, portfolio reviews and recommendations.
As a senior member of the team, you would also be instrumental in supporting the ongoing development of more junior team members.
This role is for you if you have:
- A background in private equity fund manager research and/or private equity investment.
- An analytical mindset – ability to cut through the marketing spin and understand where a manager’s edge truly lies.
- A ‘self-starter’ approach - taking the initiative and having the confidence to express a view.
- Qualitative and quantitative investment evaluation skills.
- A strong sense of process and ability to project-manage.
- The ability to listen to, absorb, evaluate and communicate complex ideas clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Experience working directly with clients.
- 8+ years of investment experience.
It would be great if you also have:
- A Professional qualification: eg CFA, CAIA.
- Experience working with institutional asset owners.
- An understanding of ESG and Climate-focused investing.
- Experience using industry tools such as Preqin, Bloomberg and Pitchbook.
- Strong, Excel-based analytical capabilities.
- Strong presentation skills.
