Our Marketing team are responsible for communicating our brand and assisting the wider business in attracting and retaining clients and talent.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Design Director who can interpret business needs and briefs and turn them into compelling creative solutions. This role will be for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract as a Maternity Cover.
An average day consists of meeting with stakeholders, taking a brief, presenting concepts, helping to craft campaign strategy, briefing suppliers, and art directing. As well as rolling up your sleeves to help amend PowerPoint docs, create social cards, and implement website edits. You will often be working under tight deadlines whilst overseeing multiple projects.
Following the recent announcement that Redington has been acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher, a key part of this role will be to manage the brand transition. This will require you to become familiar with both existing and new brands, and work flexibly across both.
You will report to our Head of Marketing and Communications and work cross-functionally with business line leads.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead Creative Direction: establish and drive the creative vision across all projects, ensuring design solutions meet the desired goals, with a focus on quality and attention to detail
- Stakeholder Engagement: work closely with internal stakeholders and client teams, effectively communicating design concepts and leading presentations
- Project Management: oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Collaboration: work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners as well as junior designers, sharing knowledge of typography, layout and design
- Quality Assurance: uphold design standards and maintain our reputation for delivering cohesive, high-quality brand experiences through various touchpoints
- Brand Transition: own the design aspects – research, test, iterate, communicate, transition – of our upcoming brand transition

- A Design Director with proven experience leading design teams with an impressive portfolio of design work
- Driven to develop strategies for enhancing team capabilities and mentoring designers across various disciplines
- A good stakeholder manager, with the ability to gain the respect and trust of internal stakeholders, at all levels of seniority
- Creative, proactive, and happy to bring new ideas to the table
- Flexible and adaptable with exceptional oral and written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
It would be great if you also
- Can storyboard film shoots and create shoot-lists for photoshoots
- Have experience using Adobe After Effects
