We are seeking an experienced UK Property Claims Director to lead a growing Property Claims function within a fastâgrowing insurtech and claims services business, transforming property claims through technology and modern operating models. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across claims performance, quality, governance, and people development. You will be accountable for delivering highâquality outcomes, maintaining strong client and carrier relationships, and driving cost efficiency, leakage reduction, and continuous improvement. This is a senior leadership position for someone who thrives in a fastâpaced, evolving environment and enjoys building scalable, bestâinâclass claims operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee dayâtoâday performance of the Property Claims function, ensuring quality, compliance, and effective reserving practices.
- Drive cost control, leakage reduction, subrogation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct audits, escalated reviews, and KPI performance analysis, implementing corrective actions.
- Lead, coach, and develop managers and teams, embedding a strong performance and feedback culture.
- Identify training needs, support succession planning, and deliver performance management and development plans.
- Ensure clear communication and effective resource planning.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and evolving role design.
- Monitor capacity, productivity, and workload distribution, providing handsâon support where required.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex, highâvalue claims and complaints.
- Partner with clients, carriers, MGAs, and vendors, attending meetings and driving resolution.
- Analyse trends and address process or performance gaps.
Skills & Experience
- Senior leadership experience within UK Property claims, ideally in a TPA or insurer.
- Strong technical expertise in claims handling, reserving, cost control, and subrogation.
- Proven ability to build and lead highâperforming teams in evolving environments.
- Excellent stakeholder, client, and communication skills.
- Track record of leading change and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum Dip CII (or working towards).
- 10+ years' claims management experience, with a strong Property focus.
- 8+ years of people management experience, ideally in a remote or distributed environment.
- Confident in using and evolving claims technology and processes.
- High standards of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
