We are seeking a compassionate, organised and child-centred Pastoral Manager to join our supportive primary school team. This is a vital role supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion, alongside assisting the SENCo in delivering high-quality SEND provision. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vulnerable pupils, including those with SEND, are able to thrive both socially and academically within a safe, nurturing environment.
The Role
- Provide targeted pastoral support to pupils experiencing emotional, behavioural or social challenges
- Work closely with the SENCo to support SEND provision and inclusive practice
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and staff
- Liaise with external agencies to secure appropriate support for children and families
- Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour across the school
This role includes Assistant SENCo responsibilities, supporting the coordination, monitoring and documentation of SEND provision.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with additional or emotional needs
- Is nurturing, patient and resilient, with a strong commitment to inclusion
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child development
- Can communicate confidently with pupils, parents and professionals
- Is organised, reflective and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Experience or training related to SEND, pastoral care, SEMH or education is highly desirable.
