Redhill Academy Trust Teachers’ Main/ Upper pay scale Plus a TLR 2B of £5,868 per annum Full Time Permanent Required To Start April 2026.

We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic Head of History to lead our growing History Department. The focus at Park Vale Academy is on outstanding achievement for every student through maintaining a culture of extremely high expectations in relation to student conduct and attitudes. Consequently, academic results have improved significantly since the school re-opened in 2016 and the last OFSTED inspection (2024) graded the school as good in every category.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have:

  • QTS Degree level qualification (subject specific)
  • Able to teach full range of ability 11-16
  • Able to maintain high standards of discipline
  • Able to use a range of strategies to promote learning
  • Able to manage and encourage good behaviour
  • Able to develop positive and meaningful relationships with students
  • Able to make appropriate use of ICT for learning
  • Understanding of how to use data to inform planning and improve students’ performance
  • Understanding of a range of assessment for learning approaches, including grades where appropriate
  • Able to communicate with students, parents and carers about pupil’s progress

The Academy is also a member of Redhill College of Leadership and Development and as such there are excellent CPD opportunities and a chance to work alongside colleagues from other high-performing schools in the region.
