Position Details
Senior Science Technician (FTE: 14.5 hours per week, Permanent, Term time only)
Salary: £9,375.49 to £10,166.02 per annum (£28,305.58 to £30,692.30 FTE)
Pay Scale: Redhill Academy Trust Pay Scale, Band 8, Scale point 36 - 40
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with science teachers to support teaching and learning across Key Stages
- Prepare, set up and clear away equipment, chemicals and materials for practical lessons
- Ensure laboratories, prep rooms and classrooms are safe, organised and well‑maintained
- Oversee stock control, ordering and storage of equipment and resources
- Maintain accurate records, including health and safety documentation
- Support the development of practical activities, including testing and preparing experiments
- Lead on health and safety requirements (e.g. COSHH, CLEAPSS guidance)
- Provide guidance and support to other technicians where appropriate
- Liaise with science staff to ensure resources meet curriculum needs

- Has experience working in a school laboratory or similar environment
- Has strong organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrates a good understanding of laboratory health and safety
- Is able to work independently and as part of a team
- Has a proactive, flexible and solution‑focused approach
