We are seeking a compassionate, organised and child‑centred Pastoral Manager to join our supportive primary school team. This is a vital role supporting pupils’ emotional well‑being, behaviour and inclusion, alongside assisting the SENCo in delivering high‑quality SEND provision. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring vulnerable pupils, including those with SEND, are able to thrive both socially and academically within a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted pastoral support to pupils experiencing emotional, behavioural or social challenges
  • Work closely with the SENCo to support SEND provision and inclusive practice
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families and staff
  • Liaise with external agencies to secure appropriate support for children and families
  • Contribute to safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour across the school

This role includes Assistant SENCo responsibilities, supporting the coordination, monitoring and documentation of SEND provision.

Qualifications

  • Has experience working with primary‑aged children, particularly those with additional or emotional needs
  • Is nurturing, patient and resilient, with a strong commitment to inclusion
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child development
  • Can communicate confidently with pupils, parents and professionals
  • Is organised, reflective and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience or training related to SEND, pastoral care, SEMH or education is highly desirable.
