About us: Redhead Architects is an RIBA chartered practice, located in the heart of Norwich. We deliver new-build and retrofit projects, ranging from one-off homes, city apartments, hotels, commercial and heritage projects. We use sound design principles, combined with 3D modelling to seek the potential for joy in every scheme.
Our office overlooks Norwich market and we try our best to create a comfortable and productive work environment. We use the latest Macs to work collaboratively using Archicad, Twinmotion, Adobe suite etc. We try to minimise pointless admin through good organisation, a Monday morning meeting and regular design reviews.
About the role: We’re looking for an enthusiastic Architectural Technologist with 2+ years experience, ideally for a design-led Architectural practice. You should enjoy working in teams and be capable of using your initiative to work independently. You should also enjoy engaging with our clients, collaborating consultants and contractors. Be open to learning from our team and learning new techniques, for example: lifecycle analysis, energy assessment, carbon calculation, sustainable construction, Data-rich modelling.
Someone who enjoys detailing with an awareness of the build process and sequencing. You will need an excellent understanding of the Building Regulations and the level of detail required for each RIBA work-stage. Good product knowledge and specification experience is important. On site experience preferred. Surveying experience an advantage.
Key requirements: We use Archicad to create coordinated drawings and details via centralised BIM models, therefore Archicad experience is a definite advantage. You will also create visuals, fly-through animations and VR experiences, so an interest in Twinmotion and new technologies is important. The world is changing fast, so we are always innovating. Therefore you should be adaptable and open to learning new software and techniques including AI and coding.
This would be a full-time position with a six-month probation period, working Monday to Friday from our Norwich office. We anticipate that the position would start in early January.
