Mid-Weight Designers are embedded in cross-functional, agile development teams. They work closely with Product Managers, Technical Leads, and Software Engineers to drive a collaborative approach to problem-solving that focuses on delivering products and experiences that meet our customers’ needs. Your Work at Redgate Software
- Supporting the tactical needs of the team from prototyping to production and testing; crafting workflows, interfaces and interactions to deliver working solutions.
- Facilitating collaborative design activities necessary to routinely engage users and the wider team in the process of exploring, shaping and refining solutions.
- Use of research and insight (qualitative and quantitative) to inform/influence the solution and any associated design decisions.
- Working with the development team to ensure a design/experiential perspective is factored into delivery; taking ownership of associated design decisions.
- Following, contributing towards and wherever possible helping to maintain a shared design system.
- Refining and improving the usability, usage and engagement of existing solutions through frequent rounds of user testing, measurement and data analysis.
- Championing a customer-centric approach to design and development, advocating for user engagement and empathy.
- Supporting and contributing towards some aspects of wider practice improvement and/or the coaching and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience working in complex domains in the SaaS B2B space.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates a user-centered design process.
- Experience working in cross-functional, agile teams where you’ve collaborated with PMs, Engineers and other Product Designers.
- A solid understanding of evaluative research methods (qualitative and quantitative) required to identify, evaluate, and improve the user experience.
- Experience with UI design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma).

Impact Plan
- 30 Days: Build an understanding of what a Product Designer does at Redgate, get familiar with the company’s mission, vision, and strategy, meet and build relationships with product and design team members; understand team roles and workflows, gain exposure to typical product work.
- 60 Days: Continue developing product and solution knowledge, start contributing to team projects, collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, and other designers on work, begin to undertake research activities.
- 90 Days: Lead the research and design of a project or feature within your team, present design work to the broader design group, contribute to cross-team design alignment.
